Multiaxial analysis

In: Local elastic-plastic strain methods

The methods grouped in this section are:

- Socie methods

    - with the normal load parameter only

    - with the shear load parameter only

    - combined solution

- Wang & Brown methods

    - original variant with the MSSR scheme preference

    - variant with the MD scheme preference

    - variant with the setting of effective normal strain according to Kim, Park and Lee [KPL99]

    - variant with the cycle counting method from [WB96]

- Findley method modified by Socie to finite life

Because of the methods are based on e-N curves, the use of Newton-Raphson iterative formula for derivation of the resulting number of cycles is necessary. Palmgren-Miner cumulative law is applied for summation of fatigue damages of individual load cycles.

The basis of the methods being dependant on e-N curves means that the methods are suitable for a damage calculation in the region of finite life with number of cycles approx. < 1e5-1e6. The induced plastic deformation has to be covered in the load inputs. Since PragTic does not have any Neuber-like method incorporated for the multiaxial solution, the use of transient analysis is the only applicable solution.
